I received my cosmetology license in 1993 from Hermitage Technical Center. This was my springboard for the variety of experiences that helped build my successful career. In addition to attending VCU, JMU and numerous hair shows along the east coast, I have also completed countless workshops on color, cutting, skin care and makeup techniques with Aveda, Redken, Matrix, Joico, and Bioelements.
After working in Atlanta with Baccatto platform artist, Berry Sons, I returned to Carytown in Richmond to work at and eventually purchase J. Immel Lifestyle and Day Spa in 1996. In addition to being voted one of the Best Salons in 1997 in Richmond Magazine, it also spawned a progressive TV show on a local Richmond station. After six years of operating and growing a successful salon and day spa, I decided to switch gears and put my family first. I have enjoyed teaching other prospective cosmetology students at my alma mater, Hermitage Technical Center.
Now, as a proud resident of Goochland County, I am eager to put my extensive artistic training and education to work at Salon Karma, making your experience exceptional and unique.
